Perindopril, due to its high tissue affinity, corrects endothelial function at the level of the coronary arteries, which is altered in patients suffering from hypertension. This leads to improvement in coronary vasodilatation and heart perfusion. As shown in this study, perindopril restores flow-dependent and cold pressor test-induced dilations in the coronary arteries of hypertensive patients. Coronary blood flow was significantly increased by perindopril from 33.7 + 10.0 to 57.9 + 20.5 mL/min (p < 0.01) and coronary resistance decreased from 4.28 + 1.27 to 2.96 + 0.84 mm Hg.mL-1 .min-1 (p < 0.001).3
