Last but not least, all these benefits demonstrated with perindopril 8 mg once daily in EUROPA trial, were achieved on top of standard optimal treatment (platelet inhibitors, lipid lowering drugs and ß -blockers) and are consistent in all sub-groups of patients. Perindopril should be used in chronic therapy in all patients with coronary disease: As prof. Willem Remme concluded: "We now have sufficient evidence to show that perindopril, due to its anti-atherogenic effects and blood pressure lowering properties is beneficial and should be used in treating all patients with coronary artery disease".
