Effekte psychosozialer Interventionen auf Lebensqualität und Schwangerschaftsraten bei infertilen Frauen und Männern – ein Update // Effects of psychosocial interventions on quality of life and pregnancy rates in infertile couples – an update Journal für Reproduktionsmedizin und Endokrinologie - Journal of Reproductive Medicine and Endocrinology 2025; 22 (2): 59-63 Volltext (PDF) Volltext (HTML) Summary Praxisrelevanz Keywords: Kinderwunschberatung, Meta-Analyse, Psychotherapie, Reproduktionsmedizin, systematischer Review, infertility counseling, meta-analysis, psychotherapy, systematic review Aim: In addition to medically assisted reproduction, psychosocial interventions are also recommended for women and men with fertility problems. However, their effects on quality of life and pregnancy rates are not certain. Methods: Following on from Wischmann T, 2017 [1], the meta-analyses of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) published since 2016 on the effectiveness of psychosocial interventions for fertility disorders are reported and evaluated here. Results: 15 meta-analyses of RCTs were identified. Overall, there were positive effects in women in relation to depression and a tendency towards anxiety. Increased pregnancy rates appear questionable due to individual study outliers. Conclusion: Despite the large number of meta-analyses that have been published in the meantime, more than twenty years after the first review on the topic from Boivin [2], it is still not possible to make any consistent statements on the effects of psychosocial interventions in fertility disorders. Even if there is evidence of positive effects on depression, anxiety and pregnancy rates in women who wish to have children, the great heterogeneity and, in particular, the methodological shortcomings of existing RCTs continue to make a summarized valid evaluation of these effects impossible.
