Update der ESC-Guidelines 2025: Pulmonalembolie in der Schwangerschaft // Update of ESC guidelines 2025: pulmonary embolism in pregnancy Journal für Pneumologie 2026; 14 (1): 6-9 Volltext (PDF) Summary Abbildungen Keywords: Pregnancy-adapted Geneva-Score, Pregnancy-adapted YEARS-Algorithmus, Pulmonalembolie, Schwangerschaft, pregnancy, pregnancy-adapted YEARS algorithm, pulmonary embolism Due to physiological changes, there is an increased risk of thromboembolic events during pregnancy and in the immediate postpartum period. Pulmonary embolism remains one of the leading causes of maternal mortality in developed countries. For diagnostic evaluation, a combination of pre-test probability assessment (e.g. pregnancy-adapted YEARS algorithm, pregnancy-adapted Geneva score), laboratory parameters (D-dimer), and imaging techniques (sonography of the deep veins of the lower extremities and pelvis, computed tomographic pulmonary angiography) is recommended. In addition, prompt initiation of anticoagulation therapy and interdisciplinary management should be pursued.
