We aim to provide a concise overview of conservative and interventional therapies of intermediate- as well as high-risk pulmonary embolisms, taking the latest evidence and new guidelines into account.

Kurzfassung: Die antithrombotische Therapie mit Antikoagulanzien und der systemischen Thrombolyse stellt einen zentralen Bestandteil der Behandlung der akuten Lungenembolie dar. Das Feld der interventionellen katheterbasierten Therapien hat sich rasant entwickelt.
Im Folgenden möchten wir einen konzisen Überblick über die konservative und interventionelle Behandlung von Lungenembolien im intermediären bis hohen Risikospektrum bieten, unter Berücksichtigung der aktuellen Evidenz inklusiver neuer Guidelines.
