Myocardial (Ca++)i in rat papillary muscle at rest. In those rats which received high dose vit. D3, (Ca++)i was increased over 160 times. This rather dramatic rise in (Ca++)i could be largely prevented by s.c. administration of diltiazem and verapamil. Keywords: calcium,
