Indikationsübergreifende psychokardiologische Komplexrehabilitation – eine neue Verbindungsdisziplin // Comprehensive psycho-cardiological complex rehabilitation – a new connecting discipline Journal für Kardiologie - Austrian Journal of Cardiology 2020; 27 (3-4): 94-99 Volltext (PDF) Summary Praxisrelevanz Abbildungen Keywords: Koronare Herzkrankheit, Psychokardiologie, Rehabilitation, Verbindungsdisziplin, comprehensive care, coronary heart disease, psychocardiology, Rehabilitation The relationship of soul and heart is to be found in thought, speech and manifold pictures in human history. The heart symbolizes love, loyalty, friendship, but also pain and hardship when it breaks. The German language has many sayings presenting the heart as the „seat of the soul“: for example „affair of the heart“, „my heart is broken“ and so on. One of the oldest studies of risk factors for diseases of the heart is the Framingham- study running since 1948. Nowadays science focuses on much more than smoking, lack of exercise, cholesterol level and blood pressure. A multidimensional bio-psycho-social illness and health model is used. An interdisciplinary treatment network is needed for this. The Psycho-Cardiology is such a connecting discipline, in the core not older than 20 years. Knowledge and experience of the fields of psychology, psychotherapy, cardiology, heart surgery, neurobiology and social sciences are integrated. In a Cochrane-analysis (2018) it could be shown that in cardial patients with a psychological disorder (e.g. depression and coronary heart disease) the psychotherapy could lower depressive symptoms as well as reducing the cardiovascular morbidity. 2007 the Klinik Möhnesee (NRW/Germany) opened the “Centre of Psychocardiology” in which in a rehabilitation medical setting from cardiology and psychosomatic the therapy of comorbid ill patients is planned, realized and further developed. This pilot project is presented here.
