Hospitalisierungsdauer (Tage) in Relation zum Beobachtungszeitraum (Tage) ausgedrückt in Prozent. Die linke Säule beschreibt dieses Verhältnis vor Beginn der Erhaltungs-Elektrokrampftherapie (E-EKT): innerhalb von 679 Tagen (12/2010–11/2012) war Patientin B an der psychiatrischen Abteilung 360 Tage stationär aufgenommen (45 %). Die rechte Säule stellt dieses Verhältnis für die Zeit während der in etwa monatlich durchgeführten E-EKT dar: Innerhalb von 359 Tagen (11/2012–11/2013) war Patientin B 62 Tage aufgenommen (17 %). Thymatron®-System-IV-Elektrokonvulsionstherapiegerät (Somatics, LLC., Lake Bluff, Illinois, USA) während der Ableitung eines stimulusinduzierten, generalisierten
epileptischen Anfalls. Die oberen beiden Ableitungen entsprechen den frontopolaren Ableitungen des Elektroenzephalogramms (EEG, beidseits) und zeigen anfallskorrelierte polyspikes und Spike-wave-Komplexe, die schließlich abrupt von einer EEG-Abflachung, der so genannten postiktalen Suppression, abgelöst werden. Die dritte Ableitung ist das Elektromyogramm (EMG), welches unter einer Blutsperre (mittels aufgepumpter Blutdruckmanschette) das tonische und klonische Krampfgeschehen am Unterarm dokumentiert (ansonsten ist der gesamte Körper im anästhesiologischen Vorgang relaxiert worden). Die vierte Ableitung ist das Elektrokardiogramm
und zeigt die Sinustachykardie während des Anfalls. Keywords: EEG,
